Whelp, two years later, I write you kids another journal entry. I've been busy wrapping up my Studio Art BA degree at Florida State University and working as an apprentice face and body painter at BJ's Party House and Painted Body Shop in Tallahassee. I love it and I am learning so much. After I graduate next week o_o I will be able to do some art for myself and hopefully produce some cool shit. So I looked through my gallery today and am thinking about how inconsistent it is. There is no set medium that reoccurs or a style that blatantly jumps out. I am an experimenter and I'm just trying to find my niche. It is a struggle, and embarrassing to look back at some of the things that I've posted as deviations. But I think it is alright to leave them there as a sign of growth as an artist. I have had a dA account since middle school, and now being in college, I have evolved a crap-ton... at least I hope. So I'm trying my best to throw together some concepts for my BFA submission in the fall. I have a long time before the submission, but I'm trying to decide if it is better to come up with the concept before the art, or the art before the concept? What do you think?   There's so much stuff packed in my head, and I just have the most difficult time getting it out, and hoping it lands on paper. Or a canvas. Or wood. Or something others can look at and say, "Ooooh" In the meantime, I am working on getting some shirts printed.
